Truck slows down when turning a corner.

A possible reason the truck will slow down when going around a corner is that the truck is in too high of a gear for the speed your truck is going. You will want to downshift before and/or while you are turning corners.

We have released a patch which should give the trucks more power. Download and install the patch by clicking on the purple "Download Patch" button below or by visiting: http://www.valusoftsupport.com/ProductProfile.asp?pid=259

Patch Instructions:
1. Download and Save the patch_1_10.zip file to your desktop or other favorite place.
2. Double-click to unzip. You will need an unzip utility such as WinZip.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions.
4. You can verify the patch is installed by checking to see if 1.10 appears in the lower right corner of the main 18 WOS AA screen.

If this does not resolve the problem, please make sure your PC meets the minimum system requirements. Running the game with less than the minimum can have poor performance and unpredictable results including corrupt graphics, sound distortion and other intermittent errors.

NOTE: If your system meets the minimum specs, you will want to make the corners and turns wide or try the below suggestion to increase your framerate from Trucksims.

The key to the steering working right is a reasonable framerate, at least 10 fps or so. If the players increase the detail/resolution settings too high to create a "slide show" out of the game, truck handling doesn't work that great.

The following information was taken from a Trucksims post found at: http://ibpro.ikonboard.com/Trucksim/ikonboard.cgi?s=3f9a5ac308b4ffff;act=ST;f=15;t=6361

Here is the raw quote from TruckSims:

"Ok after doing what Sabre told me to I monitored my framerates. The game always seemed to run smoothly for me. Better than Star Wars Galaxies or MS Train Sim. In SWG I get 20FPS and in MSTS I get 75fps in Philly and DC and over 100 out in the middle of nowhere Montana. lol HOWEVER in AA it looked smooth BUT the FPS counter showed me it's true colors. What the??...but it can't be.....6.8FPS?? NO WAY!! Turned down the graphics button from high to med and dropped the viewing distance to half and antioscopic filter to 1/4 (was originally left at default). FPS counter now reads... ahh that's better..... 30FPS.

Now here's what I want you all to do. (Follow this CAREFULLY please)

Go to my documents\a18WoS across America folder. open the config.cfg file in NOTEPAD and change these two lines (note you may already have the first one set)

uset g_console "0"
uset g_fps "0"

Change them to 1s like so:

uset g_console "1"
uset g_fps "1"

Now once you do that start a New Game. free roam will do. We're not playing we're testing. Press the ~ key ( key to the left of 1 ). Watch the FPS'. you'll see something that shows something....208 ms///x.x fps (note it won't say something. I can't remember what it says there. lol)

We want the lines AFTER the ///s. Those are your FPS' (not the ones on the left!). If it falls BELOW 7 your steering starts to either stutter or not work. When I brought my FPS' up to 30 I can turn a corner without my truck bogging down. Did I mention I can turn??

Try it. Lower your settings if necessary. Try to keep them hanging at 15fps when sitting at idle (if your system will allow it. Those of you on lower systems might not be able to get that high) and should remain ABOVE 7 at all times or you'll end up in a ditch like most of us do.

Topdog"
