In Windows NT, 2000, and XP, there are several levels of user accounts that can log into and use the machine ranging from Restricted User (limited account or access) to Administrator (has full access to everything). The Administrator account is the account that is able to do all installing, maintenance, ability to set up users and can grant rights to each individual user on the computer.
The user of the program will need to be granted full rights to the folder that the program is installed to.
XP Pro Users:
1. Navigate to the game folder by using Windows Explore (Right click on START and choose Explore).
2. Right-click on the game folder and choose Sharing and Security.
3. On the Security tab grant Full access to the users that will be running the program.
XP Home Users:
The program will need to be installed and run under an administrator account. XP Home currently does not allow administrator rights to be assigned to a specific folder on a limited account.
Again, the reason the program will need administrator rights to it's folder is because the program needs to perform the various write operations, which includes saving, for the product to function properly.
